SIFE team

Becoming leaders in business

The Students in Free Enterprise team won the SIFE USA Regional Competition in Chicago, earning a spot in the national competition. Through a written annual report and live audiovisual presentation, the team reported the results of their community outreach project to a panel of business leaders.

Aimee Pong

Achieving excellence in design

A piece by Aimee Pong, entitled "Social Media," was chosen as a winning submission in the Society of Illustrators 2012 Student Scholarship Competition. Pong, a graphic design and illustration major, also secured a prestigious internship with designer Mirko Ilić in New York.

Tyler Durham

Achieving excellence in music composition

Tyler Durham, a music composition and electronic arts student, won the 2011 national Young Composers Challenge contest. Durham’s original symphony, “The New Frontier,” was one of three winners in the full orchestra category and one of seven overall winners. His work was performed live by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Katy Jessee

Becoming a fashion innovator

Katy Jessee, a senior fashion merchandising and design student, won Outdoor Retailer's ninth cycle of Project OR during Summer Market 2012. Jessee was one of five students selected to participate in the ninth cycle of Project OR, a 48-hour concept-to-prototype design competition meant to inspire innovative outdoor fashion.
